CONGRATULATIONS

You have found Zipper’s ghost!

maybe the ghost of the webpage you were looking for is here too.

Zipper became the Shop Cat at Neal's N-Gauging Trains sometime in 1997-1998. He immediately became the ruler of the roost, particularly enjoying laying on the shelf next to the decoder rack, where he could observe the comings and goings of the shop customers, and getting the occasional scratch on his little furry head!

He got the name Zipper because he had a white strip down his belly, which resembled a zipper on a shirt or jacket. Right from the start, he was a very affectionate cat, greeting customer with a meow, then returning to his perch by the decoders!

During his tenure as Shop Cat Extraordinaire, Zipper was featured on products as diverse as NNGT advertising, free ice cream coupons, and had his own column in the NNGT Newsletter, entitled "Zipper's Tips", where he passed on the wit and wisdom of his model railroading knowledge to all!

Zipper was also an active member of the Seacoast N Scalers Model Railroad Club, and he could often be seen inspecting the Club's track work and checking out tunnel clearances. If the tunnel was large enough for him to nap in, then there would be no clearance problems with our equipment!

And, yes, Zipper did love the occasional donut! We discovered this one fine morning when either Neal or Michael had stopped by Honey Bee Donuts on the way back from the Post Office, and a chunk of deep fried goodness dropped onto the counter next to where Zipper was overseeing a sale. Zipper pounced on it like he hadn't eaten in a month, and from then on every time there were donuts in the shop, Zipper must have a piece or two!

Sadly, Zipper left us all too soon, the discovery of an inoperable mass inside his furry little body spelled the end for everyone's favorite model railroading cat. A period of mourning ensued, followed by a memorial service at Honey Bee Donuts, where a donut was hoisted by all in his memory!

RIP, Zip!
